KOKOMO (AP) — Police in central Indiana says they believe a man fatally shot in Kokomo and three others hospitalized by gunshots wounds to the head were shot randomly by a gunman.
Thirty-six-year-old Turama Stitts of Kokomo was arrested Thursday and is charged with one count of murder and three counts of attempted murder. He is being held in the Howard County Criminal Justice Center.
Police Chief Rob Baker says police believe Stitts acted alone and the shootings weren’t related to any criminal activity.
Three people were shot Thursday and one Wednesday. Police say 48-year-old Argena Williams died Thursday. The other three were taken to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. A spokeswoman says Ricky Patterson and David Gibson are in serious condition and Miriam Mallory is in fair condition.
