HUNTINGTON (AP) — Officials at Huntington University in northeast Indiana say an outbreak of head lice is affecting students in four dormitories.
Student life vice president Ron Coffey said that university officials at the school 25 miles southwest of Fort Wayne believe they have the problem under control. Coffey wouldn’t give an estimate of how many students had contracted lice.
He says school officials believe the source of the lice was a group of students who returned from a mission trip to India at the end of January.
Students diagnosed with lice are being given over-the-counter shampoo meant to kill lice and laundry money for washing clothes, hats and bedding.
