AURORA — An Aurora mother and her three young children remain missing.

But police said based on credit card records and possible sightings, they believe she was in Indiana late Thursday night or early Friday morning.

Laureth “Laurie” May of the 200 block of Plum Street, and her three sons — Quincy Collins, 4; Oliver Collins, 2; and Spencer Collins, 1 — were reported missing by May’s fiancé at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. Her fiance told police he and May argued and she grabbed the children and drove off at about 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Police said a credit card belonging to May may have been used Thursday afternoon in the Gary, Ind. area. The possible sighting was at a Wal-Mart in Hobart.

A caller from Hobart told police she talked directly with May about her three young children.

The person said there were four other people with May, including one who matched the description of Destiny Gruba, a 17-year-old girl from Cicero who was believed to be with May. Aurora police said they are working with Hobart authorities to recover security video from the Wal-Mart.

Friends and May’s fiance Shelton Collins have left dozens of comments on her Facebook wall, pleading with her to come home.

“We’re all terrified (Laurie). Please, please let us know you and the boys are okay. We love you all so very much,” one friend wrote.

Collins said Friday afternoon that he has not heard from May.

“She hasn’t called me or anyone else,” he said.

The investigation continued with little headway Saturday, as police continued to check leads they had from Friday.

“We’re still backtracking, trying to get a hold of the security video,” said Aurora police spokesman Dan Ferrelli.

Police said May was driving her white, 2001 Volvo station wagon with Illinois license plate 9590986. There is a pink cancer ribbon on the left rear of the vehicle.

Police describe May as white, 5 feet tall, 135 pounds, with red hair, blue eyes and freckles. She was last seen wearing jeans and a blue jean jacket with a fur collar.

Her children all are fair-skinned black boys with black hair and brown eyes. Police said Quincy is 4 feet tall and 40 pounds. Both Oliver and Spencer are about 2 feet tall and 30 pounds.

Cicero police said Gruba is white, about 5-foot-10, 235 pounds, with long brown curly hair and hazel eyes. Police said she has a piercing above her right eyebrow and a tattoo on her right calf of dice and playing cards.

Anyone with information in the case is asked to call Aurora Police at 630-256-5500, Cicero police at 708-652-2130, or their local authorities.
