Disability survey seeks respondents

Updated: February 21, 2012 11:29PM

BLOOMINGTON (AP) — A survey of Indiana adults with disabilities is looking for respondents.

The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community at Indiana University and two advocacy groups are conducting the survey of adults with disabilities and their families to help Indiana towns develop better housing options for them. The survey will focus on whether Indiana residents can find affordable, accessible and safe housing in supportive communities.

The questions are based on the National Council on Disability’s definition of a livable community. They’ll ask whether transportation, health services and social activities are readily available, among others.

The results will be used by cities and towns for planning projects.

The survey is available online at http://www.thepollingplace.org or by calling (800) 825-4733.
