Four people were injured Friday evening on Interstate 65 in Jasper County when an SUV veered off the road and rolled over in the median.
The driver, Mylan D. Jefferson, 31, of Indianapolis, was airlifted to Advocate Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn, Ill., with “life-threatening injuries,” according to a press release from the Indiana State Police.
Jefferson, driving a 2002 Trailblazer, was southbound about three miles north of the Fair Oaks exit, when witness said the SUV started to veer and went off the roadway through the grassy median and flipped over several times before landing upright in the right lane on the northbound side of the interstate.
Three passengers in the SUV were transported to Jasper County Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police said.
They are:
*Courtney Anderson, 21, of East Chicago.
*Kaylen Walden, 17, of East Chicago.
*Kimani Harden, 19, of East Chicago.
Anderson and Walden were wearing seatbelts, while Harden was not and was ejected, police said.
