Updated: September 25, 2012 10:50AM

INDIANAPOLIS — Indianapolis police have found a second body in a shallow grave on the city’s east side.

Sgt. Linda Jackson said Thursday the second set of remains was found as police were removing the first body. Those remains were discovered by a man looking for a dog soon after midnight Wednesday on the city’s east side.

Police say the first body has been confirmed to be a man with a head injury, but hasn’t been identified. An autopsy was also being conducted on the second body Thursday. Marion County Chief Deputy Coroner Alfarena Ballew says the body appears to be too large to be a child.

Police haven’t found any other grave sites in the area.
