BROOKSTON, Ind. — The driver of a semi-trailer has died and two others have been injured in a crash that closed Interstate 65 in White County for hours.
Indiana State Police say the crash occurred Friday as traffic slowed for cleanup from an earlier crash.
A 2013 Freightliner hauling auto parts failed to slow and struck a semi in front of it, sending that semi into a Brinks truck. The driver of the Freightliner was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police did not identify the driver.
A driver and passenger in the Brinks truck were taken to Indiana University Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette. Police said the injuries to Earl C. Hall of Beech Grove and Edvardo A. Ruiz of the Indianapolis area weren’t life-threatening.
The other semi driver wasn’t injured.
