Hammmond girl shot, killed in Calumet City

CALUMET CITY, Ill. -- A 15-year-old Hammond girl was shot and killed Sunday night in Calumet City, authorities said.
Ashaya Miller, of Hammond, was shot in the 500 block of Ingraham Avenue, less than two miles from her home, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
She was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.
She later died at 11:13 p.m., according to the Medical Examiner’s office.
Calumet City police were not available for comment early Monday.
No other details were immediately available.
