Connecticut gunman had article about NIU shootings

NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Investigators in Connecticut say they found a news article about the deadly 2008 school shooting at Northern Illinois University among the belongings of the Newtown gunman.

Adam Lanza killed 26 people inside Sandy Hook Elementary School on Dec. 14. He took his own life within five minutes of shooting his way into the building. Search warrants released Thursday detailed some of Lanza’s belongings. Among them was the article about the shootings in DeKalb.

Former NIU student Steven Kazmierczak opened fire in an NIU lecture hall on Feb. 14, 2008. Five students died and he committed suicide.
