Pence to lead events marking child abuse, neglect

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Gov. Mike Pence will lead events on April 16 marking Child Abuse Awareness and Prevention Month in Indiana.

The Indiana Department of Child Services says Pence will kick off the start of a statewide candlelight ceremony on the Statehouse lawn.

The department says it will host candlelight ceremonies across the state that day beginning at 7 p.m. local time in host communities. DCS offices statewide will join local officials, child advocates, and others to raise awareness about child abuse and neglect.
