INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana prison officials are hoping inmates will help solve some cold case slayings.
The Indiana Department of Correction said Tuesday it has released a third edition of its “Indiana Cold Case Homicides Playing Cards.” The cards profiles 52 unsolved homicides and missing persons cases from around the state and will be the only cards available for purchase in Indiana’s 25 prisons.
Officials hope the cards may jar inmate memories or provide a clue that could help solve a case.
The cards also are being distributed to law enforcement authorities.
The DOC came up with the cold cases in partnership with the Indiana State Police and the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
