Nathan Woessner, the 6-year-old boy who was trapped for more than three hours under 11 feet of sand at Mount Baldy in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore on July 12, remained in good condition Monday at Comer Children’s Hospital.

“Nathan is listed as in good condition and continues to improve,” said Dr. Diana Mitchell, his attending physician. “He returns to a regular diet today and can leave his room to visit the playroom.”

Nathan’s parents, Faith and Greg Woesner, appeared on the “Today Show” on Monday and thanked the rescue team that saved their son.
