FORT WAYNE (AP) — A man accused of reaching through a home’s open window and grabbing his ex-girlfriend’s 13-year-old son by the neck and choking him before the boy stabbed him has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
Allen Superior Judge John Surbeck on Monday sentenced 34-year-old Bruce Christlieb to 10 years in prison, but suspended two years and ordered it served on probation. Christlieb originally was charged with burglary and battery to a child, but last month pleaded guilty to the burglary charge.
Authorities say Christlieb reached into the home last August and grabbed the boy, then forced open the home’s back door. Court records say the boy grabbed a knife and stabbed Christlieb in the chest when Christlieb again grabbed the boy around the neck.
