INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Chief Justice Randall Shepard is set to deliver his 25th and final speech to legislators on the state of the state’s court system.
Shepard was scheduled to deliver his annual State of the Judiciary address to a joint session of the Indiana General Assembly Wednesday afternoon in the House chambers. He announced his retirement last month.
The state Supreme Court says Shepard’s speech will focus on building “a more unified and purposeful court system” that can “resolve disputes more fairly and effectively.”
The event will be attended by trial and appellate judges from across the state clad in traditional black robes.
The 2 p.m. address was scheduled to be broadcast on public broadcasting radio and television stations and webcast live at http://www.courts.in.gov.
