HAMMOND — Hammond police alerted area law enforcement agencies to look for a silver car seen leaving the scene of a fatal shooting Tuesday afternoon.

Curtis Brown, 46, of 611 Mulberry, was shot to death on his front porch about 12:02 p.m.

A deputy with the Lake County coroner pronounced him dead at the scene.

Several police departments broadcast the alert that three men were seen leaving the victim’s house in a silver car, possibly a Ford Mustang, with Illinois registration.

Hammond police did not return a message left by the Post-Tribune seeking additional information about the case late Tuesday afternoon.
