Trio with guns robs Miller KFC

Three young men, all armed with handguns, robbed Kentucky Fried Chicken, 5729 E. U.S. 20 in Miller, Thursday night, police said.

An employee told police the black men, between 15 and 25 years old and all wearing hoodies, ran into the restaurant about 7:45 p.m. while two customers were waiting in line.

Two gunmen jumped over the counter and ordered an employee to give them money from the register while the third stayed with the customers. Other workers ran out the back door after the employee at the counter shouted for them to escape, police said.

Detective Cpl. Edward Gonzalez is investigating the robbery. Anyone with information can call him at 881-4750.

Teen admits taking items from home

An Aetna teen charged with breaking into a relative’s home admitted to police he stole items from his aunt’s stepdaughter in July.

Terrae Lampkin, 19, of 1047 Floyd St., has been charged with burglary, Cpl. Gabrielle King said.

The victim told Sgt. Brian Farrow she returned home and found her front door broken and items missing. A few days later, she saw Lampkin, wearing her son’s shoes, hat and book bag, which had been stolen from her home.

An arrest warrant has been issued for Lampkin, who will be held on $30,000 bond when he is apprehended, court records show.
