CROWN POINT — Police are searching for two men who robbed the Verizon Wireless store on Superior Drive Friday wearing “Halloween” style masks.
Crown Point Asst. Police Chief James Janda said police responded to the store at 840 Superior Drive at about 6:10 p.m. after a call came in about the two men entering the store and demanding money.
The men were wearing masks along the line of type featured in the movie Scream, Halloween or Friday the 13th, Police Chief Pete Land said via e-mail.
The subjects then fled on foot westbound from the business with an undetermined amount of cash. No weapon was displayed during the robbery. Police set up a perimeter and a K-9 unit checked the area with negative results.
Both suspects are described as black males wearing all black clothing. One man was described as being approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds. The other man is described as the same height but not as heavy.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to contact Detective Larry Scott at 663-2131, Ext. 171 or the Crown Point Police Department anonymous tip line at 663-2131, Ext. 265.
