Man charged with molesting girl
A Hammond man has been charged in Lake Superior court with child molesting.
Adolfo Gonzalez Garza, 39, of the 6300 block of Monroe Avenue, is charged with molesting an 11-year-old girl in February at a Hammond home.
The girl told police she was awakened to someone pulling the covers off of her and fondling her. When the girl told her mother the next day, her mother told her, “I don’t know what to do, just forget about it,” the probable cause affidavit states.
The charge is punishable by a sentence of two to eight years.
