MERRILLVILLE — Police are investigating a homicide and related missing-persons case after a woman’s body was found in her home and her boyfriend was reported missing.

Officers responded to a request to check on the welfare of a person in the 1400 block of West 86th Avenue. After entering the home, they found the body of Kimberly Louise Danielwicz, 40.

Danielwicz’s boyfriend, James E. Bailey, 42, is missing, and police say they are concerned for his welfare.

Her vehicle, a 2008 red Mazda Tribute, bearing Indiana Hoosier Veteran registration AV 4148 was also missing. The vehicle has numerous Iraqi war veteran stickers and an image of “Tinkerbell” on the front license plate; the front headlight lens covers are decorated with illustrations of eyelashes.

Anyone with information can contact Detective Sgt. Bob Morgan at 769-3531.
