Two juveniles held in graffiti spree
Charges are pending against two Munster juveniles after a joint investigation between the Highland and Munster police departments connected the pair to a graffiti spree overnight Thursday.
More than half a dozen police personnel were assigned to the investigation first thing Friday morning and they canvassed the area seeking both evidence and witnesses. Both avenues provided exceptional results, according to a press release from the Highland Police.
The graffiti was reported in the 2000 block of Azalea Dive in the Meadows subdivision in Highland. Thousands of dollars in damage were reported and police will be seeking restitution for victims. Additional arrests are possible.
Munster Police also are considering an unrelated criminal charge against one or more of the suspects from another event having taken place in the early morning hours in Munster. Investigators believe some of the same suspects may be responsible for graffiti incidents last month in both Highland and Munster that has yet to be resolved.
None of the graffiti was gang related, nor are the suspects believed to be associated with gang involvement.
