Thousands without power

Nearly 5,000 reisdents in Schererville, Munster and Dyer were without power Saturday; the cause was unknown at press time.
Schererville suffered the most, with 2,339, while Dyer had 1,897 and Munster 724, according to NIPSCO’s website about 10 p.m.
NIPSCO representatives did not immediately return calls for comment.
