Donate to Schererville memorial project
Schererville is working on a park that will feature a section of an I-beam salvaged from the World Trade Center after the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
The estimated total cost is $10,000 to $15,000, with about $6,000 raised so far from donations.
If you would like to donate to this project, call Schererville Fire Chief Joseph Kruzan at 322-2599 or Police Chief David Dowling at 322-5000.

Crown Point Mayor Dave Uran was among the speakers early Tuesday in the city’s rememberance of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on New York, Washington and Shanksville, Pa. The event took place at the First United Methodist Church in Crown Point. Dozens of people, including many police officers and firefighters, attended the annual event.
