Hammond to hold classes on gang crime

HAMMOND — A series of classes about gang crimes will be held on four consecutive Wednesdays in October, Police Chief Brian Miller announced.
Sgt. Rob Cobb, a member of the Police Department’s gang unit, will talk about criminal gangs, their recruitment and activities from 6:30 to 8:15 p.m. on Oct. 3, 10,17 and 24 at the Circle of Services building (formerly the Electricians Hall), 2835 165th St.
“If you have not heard Sgt. Cobb speak, you are missing out,” Miller said. Cobb has a doctorate in conflict management.
There is no cost to attend the sessions, which are open to the general public.
