Man admits choking his girlfriend

Police arrested a Glen Park man who admitted he choked his former live-in girlfriend and kept her from leaving her home to pick up her son.

Tritez D. Smith, 26, of 1346 E. 50th Court, is charged with criminal confinement, strangulation and intimidation.

On Oct. 31, he and Kanesha Mixon argued at her home and she told him she wanted him to move out, the probable cause affidavit states.

He became angry and “told her that if she don’t be with him, he’s going to kill her,” the affidavit states.

Mixon called police, who arrived and arrested Smith. Detective Jennifer Powell questioned Smith, who admitted he held Mixon down and kept his hands around her neck “for eight to nine seconds,” the affidavit states.
