Tow truck driver robbed, beaten
A 19-year-old tow truck driver told police he was robbed and beaten Thursday night in Midtown.
The Calumet Township man arrived in the 2400 block of Adams Street about 7 p.m. and spoke to a man about how much it would cost to tow a car. The man said it was too expensive and declined service, Detective Cpl. Jeff Hornyak said.
As the man walked back to his truck, three men attacked him and knocked him down.
He reported cash, wallet and his phone were taken.
Detective Cpl. Edward Gonzalez is investigating the robbery. Anyone with information can call him at 881-4750.

Four years for delivery robberies
Lake Superior Court Judge Clarence Murray sentenced a 22-year-old Gary man to four years in prison for two counts of robbery.
Christopher Larome Cosby admitted he robbed a food delivery person at about 10 p.m. on June 23, 2009 as she walked up to the door of a home in the 3700 block of Pierce Street, Gary. Cosby threatened the Pepe’s delivery person and demanded her money. She handed over $41 from her pocket.
In a separate case the same day, shortly before 9 p.m. a man delivering orders for Pagoda Inn in Gary was robbed as he got out of his car with the order in the 3700 block of Buchanan Street. Cosby got $120 in that robbery.
Cosby will serve the sentences concurrently, as outlined in his plea agreement.
He had faced six to 20 years on the original robbery charges.
