Isom jury selection nearly complete

The 10th juror was selected Wednesday in the capital murder case of a Gary man charged with killing his wife and two stepchildren.
Two more regular jurors and four alternates must be chosen before the case against Kevin Charles Isom can go forward.
Isom, 46, is accused of killing Cassandra Isom, 40, and her two children, Michael Moore, 16, and Ci’Andria Cole, 13, on Aug. 6, 2007, at the family’s apartment in Gary’s Miller section. If jurors convict Isom of murder in the triple homicide and prosecutors prove an aggravating circumstance, Isom faces a death sentence, life without parole or a term of years. Isom also is charged with four counts of attempted murder involving Gary police officers who were called to the apartment complex in response to gunshots.
Evidence is set to begin on Jan. 7 before Lake Superior Court Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr., who must follow the jury’s finding on sentencing.
