Man’s strangulation charge dropped
A 20-year-old Crown Point man was sentenced to one year on probation for misdemeanor battery.
Tre’von Washington admitted he had an intense argument with the victim on Sept. 25 at the victim’s apartment in the 1400 block of North Arbogast Street in Griffith. During the argument, Washington pushed the woman into a wall, which injured her.
Washington, who had been on probation for theft at the time of the crime, was given credit for 17 days he spent in custody on that case. His probation officer told Lake Superior Court Judge Salvador Vasquez that Washington was compliant for 11 months of his 12-month sentence.
A strangulation charge was dismissed.
