Neighbor helps catch burglars
An alert neighbor and quick response by police led to the arrest of two burglary suspects in Glen Park Thursday.
A man who lives in the 3700 block of Massachusetts Street heard noises from his neighbor’s basement about 2:45 p.m. He saw two men dressed in all black and watched as they moved a flat-screen television out through the window, the police report states.
The neighbor shouted to the burglars to stop, and both young men ran as the neighbor called police.
Police apprehended the two suspects, who were identified by the witness as the pair he saw inside the victim’s home.
Patrolman Greg Fayson arrested Salas Sparrow, 17, of Merrillville, and Jeremy Holden, 18, of Gary.
