SAUK VILLAGE, Ill.
Dyer cyclist dies when hit by bus
A 24-year-year old Northwest Indiana bicyclist died Thursday morning after being struck by a school bus in south suburban Sauk Village.
Sean A. Tarne of Dyer, was found in the middle of the road in the 1600 block West Sauk Trail at about 6:30 a.m. Thursday, according to a statement from Sauk Village police.
A 911 caller reported that a man had been struck by a school bus, though further details of the accident have not been released.
Tarne was taken to Franciscan St. Margaret in Dyer, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to police.
No charges had been filed against the driver of the school bus as of late Thursday afternoon, according to police.
The South Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team is assisting in the investigation.
