County settles suit with former cop
Lake County officials confirmed a $25,000 settlement payment has been made bringing to a close a 2009 lawsuit filed against the Sheriff’s Department and its former administration.
Former Lake County Sheriff’s Officer Ronald Kurth filed suit in September 2009 against former Sheriff Roy Dominguez, the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, Board of Commissioners and the Grievance Review Board alleging he was fired out of retaliation.
No court action has taken place on the case since early 2010 until officials reached the agreement earlier this week. Both parties have agreed to dismiss the suit as part of the settlement.
Lake County Commissioners Attorney John Dull confirmed Tuesday the county would pay $25,000 in the settlement.
