Apparent brush fire kills 87-year-old LOFS man

An 87-year-old Lakes of the Four Seasons resident was killed in an apparent brush fire outside of his home Sunday afternoon.
Charles Lee Green, 87, sustained burns to the body, but his exact cause of death is pending an investigation by the Lake County Coroner’s Office.
Lakes of the Four Seasons paramedic Mark Baumgardner said firefighters responded to the scene around 2:30 p.m. Lee was found outside of his home, located at 6951 E. Indiana 231. Baumgardner said Green was found in the the midst of a possible brush fire. Green was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the blaze.
Hebron and Lakes of the Four Seasons firefighters responded to the scene and it took just a few minutes to put out the fire, Baumgardner said.
