An Indianapolis woman was killed Saturday night when her SUV lost control and rolled over several times on Interstate 65 south of Demotte.
Joyce McQuiller, 42, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was wearing her seatbelt, but she had to be extricated from her 2001 Ford Explorer.
Around 6:15 p.m., investigation revelated that McQuiller’s SUV was headed north in the right lane on I-65 about four miles south of the Demotte exit in Jasper County.
For unknown reasons, the SUV lost control, over-corrected and rolled onto its driver’s side, skidding a short distance on the roadway. It left the road and rolled several more times, coming to a rest on the driver’s side in a ditch.
The interstate remained open during the crash and subsequent investigation.
