Family members
of dead man sought
GARY — A Chicago man found dead inside a vacant Glen Park house last year has not been claimed, and the Lake County coroner is asking for help locating his family members.
David Lawson, 47, was found inside a house at 137 E. 39th Ave. on July 15, 2012. Coroner investigators identified his parents as Eugene and Lillian (Coleman) Lawson. That information was obtained from a birth certificate located among the man’s belongings found with him. Lawson had given a soup kitchen in Glen Park as his home address, but a coroner’s news release states he may have previously lived at 3900 Van Buren in Chicago.
Anyone with information about the man’s family can call investigator George Deliopoulos at 755-3265 or Gary police Lt. Del Stout at 881-7439.
Vice raid leads to man’s arrest
The Narcotics-Vice Unit raided a Glen Park house, arresting resident Eric D. Lynch, who is charged with five counts of dealing cocaine.
Lynch, 26. of 4240 Carolina St., allegedly sold cocaine to a confidential information obtained by police five times beginning in December, court records state. He was arrested when the drug unit served a warrant on Feb. 13. Police seized crack cocaine and packaging material during the raid.
