Four years for burglary charge

Lake Superior Court Judge Thomas Stefaniak Jr., sentenced a 29-year-old Lake Station man to four years for burglary.

Mario Michael Guzman admitted he went into a building on Vermilion Street in Lake Station on Oct. 11 and stole a prescription bottle, camera and DVD.

Guzman’s plea agreement, which outlined that his sentence will be served in Lake County Community Corrections, called for him to pay $2,700 to the victim, Eric Terwilliger.

Guzman had faced six to 20 years on the original burglary charge, which was dismissed.

In a separate case, Guzman also was sentenced to one year for a probation revocation for a misdemeanor drunken driving charge.
