The Lake County Election Board will see changes to its Republican half starting Tuesday.
Lake County Republican Chairman Dan Dernulc told the Post-Tribune on Friday he has installed William Fine of Munster and Dana Dumezich of Schererville to sit on the board. The two replace former Lake County Republican Chairwoman Kim Krull and Allan Katz.
“I appreciate Kim’s and Allan’s contributions to the board, but I feel Bill and Dana are right-fitted to move the board in a different direction,” Dernulc said. “Ninety-nine percent of the people I spoke with agreed with me that they’ll be a good choice.”
Krull could not be reached for comment Friday evening.
Fine, an attorney in Highland, lost his bid for 12th District state representative to incumbent Democrat Mara Candelaria-Reardon in November. Dumezich is the wife of former state Rep. Dan Dumezich.
The Lake County Election Board is scheduled to meet at 10 p.m. Tuesday.
