A DeMotte man has been charged in Lake Superior Court with robbery resulting in bodily injury, criminal confinement, residential entry, domestic battery, misdemeanor battery, invasion of privacy and interference with reporting a crime.
Charges against Larry James Keller, 31, stemmed from an Easter Sunday morning report by his estranged wife, who told police she discovered Keller inside her residence at about 7 p.m. the previous night in the 1000 block of East Glen Park Avenue in Griffith. Keller is accused of stealing the woman’s cell phone, car keys and an envelope containing money from her purse.
During a conversation that lasted several hours, Keller allegedly became angry and struck the woman in the face and head with his fist.
Police noted swelling on her left eye, bruises on her right eye and scratches on her cheek.
