CROWN POINT — An Ohio mother who locked her keys and her 4-year-old daughter in her car outside the Lake County Fairgrounds has been charged with possession of marijuana after she called police for assistance opening the door.
Tairah N. Moss, 24, of Girard, Ohio, contacted Crown Point Police March 30 after she locked her keys inside her car in the 600 block of S. Court Street. When Officer Steve Meece gained entry to the car, he noticed a strong smell of marijuana coming from inside.
A search of the vehicle uncovered a little more than 4 grams of marijuana and a glass pipe with marijuana residue. Moss was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, both misdemeanors. The child was released to a friend of the Moss who was attending the Easter Egg hunt at the fairgrounds.
