Teenager shot in Miller

A 16-year-old Calumet Township teen was shot in the chest Friday afternoon while he was in Miller, police said.

Isaac Reyes was in the 300 block of Hancock Street when the shooting occurred. He walked one block west to Lake Street, where a friend’s mother then drove him to the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus.

Lt. Del Stout is investigating the shooting.

Anyone with information can call him at 881-7439.

Talk in park leads to injuries

Two Gary men were cut during an argument at Ironwood Park early Friday morning, police said.

Jeramy Jordan, 24, told police he and Randall Williams, 26, were at the park talking about 5:40 a.m. when Williams stabbed Jordan in the back of his neck, police spokeswoman Cpl. Gabrielle King said.

Jordan said he tried to grab the knife and then cut his hand in the struggle. Jordan went to the hospital for treatment and Williams was arrested. He was being held on a pending charge of felony battery.

Detective Cpl. Jeff Hornyak is investigating the case.
