Store employee stabbed with knife

An employee at a Cricket store in Black Oak was stabbed several times Tuesday afternoon by a man posing as a customer.

Tadros Sultan, 21, told police the man entered the story about 2:30 p.m., walked around, then left. He returned minutes later wearing a hat with a hood pulled over it. The man had a knife and told Sultan, “Give up everything,” then began stabbing the employee in the face, legs and arm.

Sultan was treated at the Methodist Hospitals Northlake campus. Detective Sgt. Dan Callahan is investigating the stabbing and robbery. Anyone with information can call him at 881-1210.

Man robbed, almost run over

A Glen Park man said he was robbed and threatened by a suspect who then tried to run him over with a car outside J&J’s Fish on Broadway, police said.

Cory Lewis, 55, was at the restaurant about noon Tuesday when a man grabbed money from his hand, then threatened to kill him. The suspect left and the victim followed him into the parking lot, where Lewis said he was almost struck by the man’s car.

Detective Cpl. James Nielsen is investigating the robbery. Anyone with information can call him at 881-4754.
