Chicago man gets 4 years on drug charge

A former East Chicago man was sentenced to four years in Lake County Community Corrections for possession of a controlled substance.
Charles Anthony Williams Jr., 32, of Chicago, admitted he sold 0.2 grams of crack cocaine to a confidential informant working with East Chicago police on Dec. 29, 2011 in the 4800 block of Magoun Avenue in East Chicago. The drug deal occurred within 1,000 feet of Veterans Memorial Park.
Williams had faced six to 20 years on two of the original charges of dealing in cocaine or a narcotic drug, which were dismissed along with a charge of maintaining a common nuisance
