Cash, merchandise taken in robbery
Two robbers stole cash, cigarettes and other merchandise from the Save Gas station at 1564 Harrison St. about 3 a.m. Thursday, police said.
An employee told Patrolman Justin Hedrick she came out from behind the counter area to clean the store while her friend was also in the business when two men entered and pushed them both down. One man held down the visitor while the second man opened the cash register and kicked open the storage room door.
The men fled with at least $200 and unknown items, police said.
A 50-year-old Glen Park woman was robbed at gunpoint Wednesday afternoon when she dropped off a friend in the 5000 block of Ohio Court, police said.
The victim told Cpl. Frank Nanney that her friend was out of the car about 12:30 p.m. when a black man with a gun demanded her money. She gave him her cash and then he grabbed her purse and ran.
