Man charged with assault
A Miller man is charged with two counts of battery resulting in serious bodily injury after allegedly assaulting two women because one of them owed him $60, court records state.
David Johnson, 36, of 700 N. Henry St., is wanted on a warrant. He will be held on $60,000 bail when he is apprehended, court records show.
The first victim told Detective JerVean Gates she knew Johnson, who came to her apartment on Dec. 26 and started arguing and hitting her. He struck her in the head several times with a handgun, and “tried to shoot her,” the probable cause affidavit states. She needed 14 stitches to close the head wound.
Her friend was there and tried to intervene, but Johnson then struck her in the mouth, chipping several teeth.
During the assault, Johnson said, “I’m getting her back, I’m getting my lick back,” the affidavit states.
