GRIFFITH
TVs taken, but
are quickly found
Police are investigating a burglary where jewelry, TVs and cell phones were taken between 3 and 6 p.m. Tuesday in the 600 block of West Pine Street.
As the homeowner was reporting the incident, police were called to an alley behind the 600 block of North Lindberg after a caller spotted two people running south after dropping two TVs in a yellow garbage container. The TVs were taken from the woman’s home.
Door torn off,
TV, games taken
Someone tore a side door off the hinges in the 400 block of West 44th Place and stole cash, prescription medication, two game systems and a 42-inch LCD TV. The burglary was reported at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Set-up turned out to be just that
Police are investigating a strong-arm robbery in which a 16-year-old said two juveniles robbed him. The boy told police he’d been called by one boy to “hang out’ in an alley in the 200 block of North Lafayette, which he thought was strange and a possible set-up. Instead, the teen decided to hang out with another boy. When he was walking home around 10:30 or 11 p.m. Sunday, he contacted the first two juveniles to see if they still wanted to hang out. They met in the alleyway and the two began punching him until he fell to the ground. The two rifled through his pants pockets and stole $80.
