Lawyers to attend academy: The Indiana State Bar Association has announced the 2012 class for its new Leadership Development Academy. The attorneys will participate in five sessions intended to inform participants about leadership principles and techniques, the importance of effective leaders in organizations, and the challenges and rewards of leadership in action. Participating attorneys from Northwest Indiana include: Richard W. Castleton, Merrillville, Burke Costanza & Carberry; Jennifer Irons, Crown Point, Sendak & Stamper; Shontrai D. Irving, Gary, State Farm litigation counsel; Michael J. Jasaitis, Crown Point, Austgen, Kuiper & Associates; and Jaime M. Oss, Michigan City, Huelat Mack & Kreppein.

Making a “Difference”: Comfort’s Catering, 9585 Industrial Drive, is participating in “Dining for a Difference,” a restaurant program that benefits the programs and services of the Cancer Resource Centre in Munster. Through Feb. 17, 10 percent of every breakfast or lunch purchased at the restaurant on weekdays will be donated to the Cancer Resource Centre.
