Regarding the confusion over Portage’s downtown area: When Meijer comes to Ridge Road and Willowcreek, Central Avenue is going to look like urban sprawl. Oh, by the bye, we already have a restaurant on Ridge Road that serves sushi.
I just wonder if the people who own houses
by the new roundabout in Valparaiso have been compensated for lowering their property values?
Yes mayor of Gary, please have cops patrol the neighborhoods, especially east Glen Park on 48th and 49th. There’s too much going on. Too many people trying to get into houses, and some of us are elderly.
I hope that Edison Learning eliminates the athletic program at Roosevelt. Roosevelt students don’t need sports. They need to learn how to read, write, speak correct English and at least do arithmetic. Most athletes won’t be able to progress in sports. To continue athletics at Roosevelt would be to continue to do business as usual. Athletics is a distraction that Roosevelt does not need.
I think Portage should supply a workforce or pay homeowners who have to redo their driveways after the plow goes by.
