Mardi party: A Mardi Gras party
is planned from 7 p.m. to midnight Saturday, Feb. 11, in the Murphy Parish Life Center next to Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 7667 E. 109th Ave. Cost is $20 per person in advance and $25 per person at the door. Tickets are sold from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays at the church.

Hospice volunteers needed: Hospice of the Calumet Area seeks volunteers to serve as companions to individuals and families facing an end-of-life illness. Training will be held from
