Workshops planned  for teens, parents

CROWN POINT — Dave Kipp, a family life specialist and pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School, 250 S. Indiana Ave., has prepared five, two-hour workshops for teens and their parents.

The topics and times are: “Teening Parents and Parenting Teens,” 9 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28; “Addressing Divided Family Relationships,” 9 a.m. Saturday, March 3, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6; “Letting Go of a Hurtful Past,” 9 a.m. Saturday, March 10, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 13; “Marriage Checkup,” 9 a.m. Saturday, March 17, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 20, and “Satisfying Relationship,” 9 a.m. Saturday, March 24, and 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 27.

Kipp has worked with children, teens and parents more than 35 years. He recently spoke to 14,000 teenagers and youth leaders at a Christian Youth Gathering in San Antonio.

Kipp is a 1978 and 1987 graduate of Concordia University in Mequon, Wis., and a 1992 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Fort Wayne. Since 1997, Kipp has been the associate pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church and School in Crown Point, where he specializes in pastoral counseling, teaching and visitation.

The workshops are open to the public. Participants do not need to be members of Trinity Lutheran or any other denomination.
