New branch library in Grififth

The Lake County Public Library conducted a groundbreaking for a new branch at the corner of Colfax Street and 45th Avenue in Griffith on May 10. Participants in the ceremony included library staff members Carolyn Strickland and Chris Rettig; board members Alice Cope, Dennis Tobin, Michael McIntyre and Bruce Woods; board president Michael Davis; board members Marti Ross and Edith Dakich; and Library Director Ana Grandfield. The new building will include a children’s programming room with a kitchen, a drive-up book drop, a programming room, a small study room, and more computers than the current library. | Photo provided
