Munster fares well at DECA International

Thirty-three Munster High School students participated recently in the 66th annual DECA International Career Development Conference in Salt Lake City.

About 17,000 students from the United States, Canada, Germany, Mexico, South Korea and China competed in 45 events, with as many as 160 competitors. DECA is a student-run group geared toward marketing, management and entrepreneurship.

Munster members honored at the award sessions were:

† Elena Piech, Principles of Marketing, Top 10 Role Play Medal

† Netta Patwari and Hanhuang Yao, Business Law & Ethics Team, Top 10 Role Play Medal

† Emily Milojkovitch, Restaurant & Food Service Management, Top 10 Role Play Medal

† Aabesh De and Sammy Dong, Financial Services Team, Top 10 Role Play Medal

† David Straka, Quick Serve Restaurant Management, Top 10 Test Medal

† Nathalie Kauz, Hospitality Services Team, Top 10 Test Medal

† Kaily Kawalec, Travel & Tourism Team, Top 10 Test Medal

The following student was a finalist, placing him in the top 20 at the conference.

Munster also had 10 top-10 students, with one individual and one team of two taking first-place awards.
