Clean water festival: The City of Gary sponsors the Clean Water Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 30, at Marquette Park. Gay Pride parade participants needed: Northwest Indiana Rainbow Days sponsors the fifth Gay Pride parade at noon Saturday, July 14, starting from 25th Avenue and Adams Street and proceeding west to Taft Street. Pride of the Side alumni dance: Gary West Side High School alumni present the 11th annual Pride of the Side dance from 8 p.m. to 2 a.m. Sunday, July 29, at the Genesis Convention Center, 5th Avenue and Broadway. Tickets, $10 in advance or $15 at the door, are available at the Genesis box office and West Side High, 9th Avenue and Gerry Street. A picnic is planned at noon Sunday at Brunswick Park, 7th Avenue and Clark Road. All classes are invited.
